Hello everyone, while standing in line at third man records on record store day I met quite a few people, This is one of those people that just so happened to be nice enough to conduct an interview with me about vinyl, third man, and other stuff, but unfortunately the audio used in the interview was barely audible, so I transcribed it to text.
*Roughly 5 a.m.*
NV: Hey man, how are ya?
Mark: pretty good man, miserable, but pretty good.
NV: Yeah I could agree with you there, I’ve been here since midnight without a tent or a blanket. It’s been pretty rough.
Mark: Ha, yeah I could imagine.
NV: How long have you been here today?
Mark: Roughly 9 p.m. but I was lucky enough to be with friends who have an awesome tent.
NV: Yeah I’m sure that makes the whole experience a whole lot more comfortable. What all are you gonna pick up, besides the liquid filled record?
Mark: Well I figured that I might as well grab everything being released today, I’ve already been in line for hours and hours, I wanna make it worthwhile.
NV: That makes total sense, How stoked are you for “Blunderbuss”? (Jack Whites new album)
Mark: DUDE! I cannot wait, everything he does is just brilliant and after hearing a few of the singles I can’t imagine this album being anything short of my favorite record of all time.
NV: I couldn’t agree more man, Third Man in general has just grown and turned into this big reknowned label that puts out pure gold and the appeal is so wide.
Mark: Ya know, I honestly think that the way we currently view bands like Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd, is the way that we’re gonna look back at Jack White and any of his bands. He has the classic rock, blues sound that attracts the older dudes like myself and the chops and energy that the younger guys are into. I’m happy to say that I’ve been a part of it for the past two years.
NV: Mark, I couldn’t agree with you more man. Thank you so much for your time, and have a good rest of the day until the store opens.
Mark: No problem man! I’m more than happy to help
